Arriving in a new country as an adult can be daunting, but Ross made it feel effortless. His warmth, curiosity, and generosity were an instant welcome. A respected figure in the world of wine, Ross carried an infectious passion for flavour, knowledge, and conviviality. With a familiar twinkle in his eye, he shared stories, expertise, and the occasional exceptionally rare bottle. A true bon vivant, Ross valued conversation and connection just as much as the finer things in life. He was more than a gentleman, he was a dear friend. We shared countless memorable meals, and I wish there could have been many more. Though he’s no longer with us, his spirit lives on in every glass raised.
